Power to the People

I believe that if clients can easily control and add to their own websites, everyone is better off. The clients get more up-to-date information our to THEIR clients, better search results are achieved honestly due to the liveliness of the site…and my clients save money and have more fun with their sites than they ever thought possible.

Enter the second web revolution: WordPress. Now, traditional custom coded tableless CSS sites are still a wonderful thing. Custom content management systems are great. But for the average smaller client with limited budget, WordPress is The Bomb. Or whatever the kids are calling it these days.

Even for someone like me, who knows how to code in HTML and CSS and PHP without “helper apps” like dreamweaver, wordpress just makes a huge amount of sense. There ARE some issues with security that you have to be careful about; how much do hackers like hacking into WordPress sites? Lots. So DO use a good designer to assist you in choosing a quality theme, and setting it all up, and then be sure to keep yours tightly controlled and set it up so it’s not easily hacked. You can do it all yourself, yes…I suggest you do not. You’re saving plenty by starting with a theme instead of a custom design; use the savings to have it done correctly for you before you take it over.

And now, I am walking the talk: this site is my switch to WordPress. Granted, I’ve customized a bit of the css and the php in the backend…because I can. But my goodness, how wonderful it is to have this ease of use for myself. The same ease of use you can have for your company; give me a call, let’s talk about a plan to bring you into the club.
